Jump aboard the campaign for real change in Moreland!
There is currently a lot of work to be done for the local government campaign, and if you are new to the cause, it's a great way to get involved. There is simply no better way to help out, to learn the ropes, and meet fellow travellers - and it's always good fun. It basically involves volunteering to do a bit of letterboxing around your neighbourhood (or possibly further afield), help out the candidates with doorknocking if you like, staffing weekend stalls (the stalls roam around Moreland every weekend, though soon we should have a campaign-permanent stall at the CERES market), and also - the big one - helping out on election day. This generally involves handing out How-to-Vote cards at polling booths for several hours minimum, but there is more to be done if you wish.
You can also join the Greens by visiting www.vic.greens.org.au/get-involved/join . The people at the office are very friendly, and only too happy to discuss membership matters.
Branch meetings for the Moreland Greens are held on the first Tuesday of every month, from 7pm to 9pm. Meetings alternate between Brunswick and Coburg monthly. More detailed information will be supplied upon joining. There is always a need for more helpers in the branch, and this is directed through the three co-convenors: branch(at)greenmorelandcity.com
Hope to see you soon!
